From a beekeeping hobby to a beekeeping passion.

Beescreek Honey Pty Ltd began in 2011 when Director Andrew Shugg procured his first beehive.

At the time, Andrew was the owner-operator of a successful welding company in his hometown Darwin, Northern Territory.

Growing up, his father always shared his interest in beehives, which sparked Andrew’s own beehive fascination.

The operation quickly grew from one beehive to multiple, as Andrew was able to obtain and split more hives.

After 3 years, Beescreek Honey won a contract to pollinate pumpkins in the Northern Territory.

Thus, the reliable Beescreek Honey pollination services reputation was born.

Professional beekeeping operations for effective honey extraction and pollination services.

Beescreek Honey is extracted,  with our bees’ livelihood as the first priority.

We ensure enough honey is left in the hives to sustain the bees in Darwin’s cooler dry season, ensuring our crop pollination services are available.

The beekeeping passion.

Andrew and his wife Julie have travelled Australia and the world meeting and learning from members of the beekeeping community.

They continually attend the Apimondia Congress, an international gathering of beekeepers, beekeeping equipment manufacturers and pollination scientists, to stay up to date with innovative technologies and processes.

Spreading bee awareness.

Our Royal Darwin Show Beescreek Honey stall is a staple at the event and an annual opportunity to share our honey with the community and spread bee awareness through an immersive beekeeping presentation where patrons can witness honey extraction and sample our honey.

Andrew also visits schools, gardening groups and the like to educate the community on the connection between food and the environment and beekeeping processes.

Proven pollination expertise.

The Beescreek Honey team understand the necessary considerations for effective crop pollination.

“Excellent honey. My New Years Resolution is to only buy honey from local apiaries, so this is extra perfect.”

Professional beekeeping practices.

We constantly strive to improve our beekeeping processes with respect for our bees' natural inclinations.

The Beescreek Honey team has extensive training and experience in safe, regulated beekeeping practices in Darwin. Our hives are cared for in the wild, and precautions are taken to protect them from pests and the elements.

Special care for our bees is also provided to ensure swarming and absconding do not occur. Furthermore, our beekeeping skills allow us to identify honey bee colony decline before it becomes irreversible.

Our bee hives are registered with the Northern Territory Department of Primary Industries under the Biosecurity Act 2014.
